Minister of Interior of Kuwait receives President of Qatar and Arab Police and Sports Federations

In a significant move to strengthen cooperation in police sports across the Arab region, H.E. Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior of the State of Kuwait, received Major General Khalid bin Hamad Al-Attiyah, President of the Qatari and Arab Police Sports Federations, at his office.

This high-level meeting highlighted the growing partnership between Kuwait and Qatar in the field of police sports and the shared commitment to enhancing the performance and efficiency of police personnel through sports activities.

Focus on Cooperation in Police Sports

During the meeting, both sides discussed key aspects of joint cooperation in police sports. They explored ways to develop joint programs, events, and championships that support police sports work while promoting health, fitness, and teamwork among security personnel. The discussions also emphasized how sports initiatives can play a role in improving the professional performance of police officers.

The meeting reflected the importance of sports as a tool to enhance the skills and efficiency of police members while fostering camaraderie across Arab nations. Planning for Future Programs

The parties reviewed arrangements for the Executive Office meetings and the 49th General Assembly of the Arab Police Sports Federation, which is scheduled to be held in Qatar in February, as part of their agenda. These meetings are expected to include elections for the Executive Office members for the 2026-2030 session.

Major General Al-Attiyah and Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah also emphasized the depth of fraternal relations between Kuwait and Qatar. Both sides reaffirmed their strong support for joint Arab cooperation in security and sports, reflecting shared values and mutual goals in enhancing police sports activities across the region.

Exchange of Shields and Appreciation

At the conclusion of the meeting, H.E. Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah presented the Ministry of Interior’s shield to Major General Khalid Al-Attiyah. This gesture recognized the Arab Police Federation’s efforts in supporting and promoting sports activities among Arab police forces and their positive impact on the physical competence of male and female police officers.

In a reciprocal gesture, Major General Al-Attiyah presented the Arab Federation’s shield to the Kuwaiti Minister of Interior as a symbol of appreciation and the strong mutual cooperation between the two nations.

This meeting reflects the growing commitment of Kuwait and Qatar to enhance police sports in the Arab world.
